Our ongoing series of workshop and events is for everyone from new and experienced breeders to fibre artists and alpaca enthusiasts. Come visit the ranch. Enjoy the fresh air, delicious food, and friendly animals at Silent Valley Alpaca. We are so much more than a Farm — we are a meeting place where friends and families gather. Whether you would like to partake in one of our fibre arts events or would like to learn more about alpacas in one of our knowledge sessions, we’ve got it all! There's fun in the Silent Valley for the whole family!

Discover what it takes to own and manage a small herd of healthy, happy alpacas. Join experienced alpaca breeders to learn everything from top knots to toe nails in a hands-on workshop that will assist you in making qualified alpaca decisions. Experience the joy of handling these remarkable animals.


Weaving Workshop

$90.00 plus $20.00 material fee

Weaver Karen Moore will share her passion and skills during this full day workshop. Join Karen in the Cedar House & Studio here at Silent Valley Alpaca. The workshop includes morning coffee/tea and muffins and a warm lunch. Your completed project will be a beautiful hand woven handbag with shoulder strap. Minimal sewing skills are required.
All table looms and materials are provided by the instructor.

Crocheting Workshop
Crocheting Buffalo Plaid

$50.00 plus material fee of $20.00

 All materials are provided by the instructor join Canadian Mom , Tammy Watson for a half-day workshop in "the Cedar House and studio" to learn the Buffalo Plaid crochet technique and create this handy Drink Cozy while soaking in the wonderful ambiance at the farm. By the end of the workshop you will be able to crochet the magic circle, double crochet, reverse single crochet and slip stitches, as well as join and carry multiple colours. Yarn, written instructions and tools will be provided (you're welcome to bring your favourite size H/4.0 mm hook). Basic crochet experience would be an asset. Refreshments are provided.


Natural Dyeing Workshop

$50.00 plus $20.00 material fee

Join the very talented Marianne Gissler for this incredible half-day workshop. Explore the art of hand dyeing using natures abundance. Marianne will demonstrate in the Cedar House & Studio here at Silent Valley Alpaca. Your completed project will be 2 - 50 gram skeins of beautiful high quality alpaca yarn from Silent Valley Alpaca, dyed in your choice of natural colours
Refreshments are included.
